Of course HH hit the red carpet when the "United Negro College Fund" decided to do a tribute to Mr. Lionel Richie, but let me tell you the about the AH-mazing show that happened inside once I left the carpet. I got inside and got my seat (which was also AH-mazing lol) and prepared myself for the incredible talent that was about to hit the stage...i'm talking, Akon, Brian McKnight, Johnny Gill, Chrisette Michelle and others. But, the one who Shut.It.Down was Ledisi! That girl hit the stage, sang her butt off and got a standing ovation! It was also the first time I got to see the man of the hour, Lionel Richie, sing live. He was incredible and once you hear him live, you can see why he deserved that tribute and why he's still on top of his game after so many years in the business. My only regret is that I had to sneak out before seeing Chrisette Michele and Stevie Wonder perform, ugh! But, thats just more reason for me to tune in to WGN, Saturday, January 23rd at 11pm cst or BET, Sunday, January 24th at 10pm est to see the full show. Congrats to Lionel Richie!
