Justin Timberlake Not Making New Music E-mail

Justin Timberlake is set to disappoint his legions of fans - the singer has no immediate plans to release new solo material.

The SexyBack hit-maker's last album - 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds - was a massive hit. However, Timberlake admits he is in no rush to make a new solo record because he is happy producing other artists' songs.

He tells Entertainment Weekly, "Right now, I like the idea that things can just kind of pop up and if they feel right I can do them. Committing to my own sort of project, that's like, 'Okay, let me block out two years of my life and do it.'

Two Jimi Hendrix Albums Coming This Year, New Deal Formed E-mail

Control over Jimi Hendrix's music switched hands recently, when Universal Music Publishing Group became the exclusive administrator of the Jimi Hendrix catalog throughout the world ... outside the United States.

According to Billboard.com, the company inked a five-year agreement to cover all commercial opportunities, including synchronization licensing for motion pictures, TV, advertising and other media, overseas.

While Universal is covering the rest of the world, the U.S. publishing rights are still intact with Experience Hendrix, the Seattle company formed in 1995 by the guitarist's late father, James "Al" Hendrix, and now headed by Jimi Hendrix's sister Janie Hendrix, who is president/CEO.

Kid Cudi Calls Off Retirement E-mail

After a shocking announcement of retirement, Kanye West protégé Kid Cudi has retracted his statement, saying he will not leave the rap game.

The announcement came yesterday during Cudi’s set at the South By Southwest music festival.

"You remember when Spiderman didn't want to be Spiderman no more? Cause his personal life was so f***** up, but he was just, like, killing s*** as Spiderman...?" Cudi asked the crowd.

“I understand that I need y’all and y’all need me,” he added. “So I can’t stop.”

The statement was met with applause from the crowd.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Buy $125 Million Home? E-mail

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are all set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary as the owners of one of Los Angeles' most prestigious homes, according to reports.

The pop pair have put in an offer to buy the Saperstein Estate in Holmby Hills, after spending the past three months house hunting in California.

The palatial pad has reportedly been on the market for months at a whopping $125 million. It is not known what Carey and Cannon are paying for the place.

The French Chateau-style mansion was bought by David and Suzanne Saperstein in the early 1990s. The former society couple spent five years renovating the home, which they dubbed Fleur de Lys.

Static Major's Death Caused By Hospital Mistake? E-mail

Static Major, the producer who co-wrote Lil Wayne's biggest hit to date "Lollipop," died abruptly last year. Reports have surfaced claiming his death was caused by complications associated with treatment he received at a hospital in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

According to ThisIs50.com, Static (real name: Stephen Garrett) checked into the Baptist Hospital East on February 2008, complaining of flu-like symptoms and shortness of breath, and hours later passed on.

While the cause of death was unknown at the time of his passing, The Leo Weekly reports that an autopsy has revealed that his death was connected to treatment received at the hospital. Doctors reportedly recommended that Static undergo plasmapheresis, a treatment that removes toxins from the blood using a catheter. To receive the treatment, Static had to stay in the hospital overnight, to be monitored, prior to surgery the following morning.

Eminem To Deliver Two Albums In 2009? E-mail

Rap superstar Eminem will give fans a double treat this year - by serving up two new albums by the end of 2009.

The Without Me hit-maker, real name Marshall Mathers III, has been working on his highly-anticipated chart comeback - the follow-up to 2004's Encore - for months. Relapse, recorded with his mentor and super producer Dr. Dre, was originally expected to be released in late 2008/early 2009, but Eminem has now picked a mid-May date for the disc. And the star reveals his studio sessions have been so productive, he's already got Relapse 2 in the works, which he plans to release just months after Relapse.

KRISS KROSS IS REUNITING E-mail

You know, this might sound interesting, but I am very interested in hearing what Kriss Kross is going to be bringing to the table when they reunite! That's right. Chris and Chris are reuniting and they are working with Kwame, the rapper-turned-producer. That's right.

The said Kwame has blessed them with about five records. Chris Kelly said that the group is putting together about 20 songs for an early 2010 release. They are also coming for JD! Well, not exactly, but Chris is upset that JD gaffled them for their publishing. Well, I won't say gaffling...but he's tight about it. He said they were 10 and `11 when they were doing Kriss Kross. I don't know.

KILLER MIKE AN BOBBY CREEKWATER ARE DOING WHAT? E-mail

First of all, I welcome Bobby Creewater to the rumors page. I think this is his first outing. I have a rumor though. I am hearing that Killer Mike and Bobby Creekwater are putting together something HUGE! All this is beyond what they worked on for Creek's BC Era Deuce EP, which is dropping later this month. Whatever this project is, I am told it will be as big as Mike's partnership with Grand Hustle. That’s all I have.

Crooked I Shot? Sources Say He's 'Hurt Badly, But Ok' E-mail

The rumor mill has been buzzing yesterday with news of rapper Crooked I getting shot somewhere in Los Angeles.

While details are sketchy, we've confirmed with sources close to the rapper that he was apparently "hurt badly," but he is alive, at home, and in stable condition.

The word is he was shot, but we've yet to confirm this.

"Crooked I is hurt badly, but he's alive," the source said.

Watts rapper G. Malone also confirmed Crooked's injuries, but didn’t elaborate on the cause. "Something happened ... which they ain't explaining, but Crooked is ok. He is at his home in fine condition," the rapper wrote in a text, via his official Twitter page.

Cam'ron Speaks to Jim Jones? E-mail

After a highly publicized falling out, The Diplomats and estranged member Cam’ron may be on the verge of reconciling.

In a recent interview with MTV, Cam revealed that during a routine phone call to Freekey Zeekey led to a brief chat with Jim Jones.

"Everybody has been reaching out. I've been the one kinda saying Cam is going to take time do Cam,” he said. “But Hell Rell and J.R. [Writer] definitely been reaching out. I called [Freekey Zekey's] phone four or five days ago and Jim picked up Zeke's phone. Me and him spoke for about 10 or 15 minutes, but me and Zeke speak all the time. I haven't spoken to Juelz [Santana]."
