Put You To bed: DJ Bedtyme has to be the hardest working man in hop. if he isn't, then he at least has to be the example. Well on a hectic Monday, DJ Bedtyme who has done it all made time for me and he has a message for you female MC's especially given the blessing he received from Remy Ma herself.

 
Badnews: So exactly, how did you get into DJ'ing?

DJ Bedtyme: I use to set up shows for my brother, you know set up his equipment and other things but as the work load got more heavier I just took over and started doing the Dj parties for him. So I would start the parties off and then as time went on he was more in the background with the business and I just started doing things on my own. We don't work with with each other anymore though.

Badnews: What would you consider the point when you had your first break?

DJ Bedtyme: It would had been meeting my current manager, because after that then everything else was history. he steered me in the right direction.

Badnews: How did you link up with Remy Ma?

DJ Bedtyme: I was always the go to DJ. Remy was dropping her album "there's something about Remy" and she needed to tour and promote it. I had already been working CL Smooth that's who I am really most known for and also my mix tapes I would put out. but Her label suggested to her to get a DJ, and they remembered me from a previous show I was at where she was preforming with Jae Millz and Papoose, So they hit my team up and asked if I can work with her and I said of course and the first show I did with her was the Hot 97 Full Frontal show and the rest is history.

Badnews: You were able to balance being Remy Ma's DJ, hosting your own radio show and also putting out your mix tapes...how do you keep from getting burned out?

DJ Bedtyme: Just the determination not to fail. Plus a lot of people depend on me and I can't let them down. they have to eat. The day changes every time so there is always something new. put The fact that people need me is really what keeps me from getting burned out.

Badnews: How did Hate Money Radio Begin?

DJBedtyme: Well Hate Money Radio is five years old and it came about all through networking.  A radio director caught wind of what I was doing in the streets, so he contacted my management to see if he could do some business with him. But Hate Money Radio only plays unsigned artist, we cut some slack now but back when it first started, the only major artist I really was playing was Remy. Some blown up by now and I will always play there music no matter what, But hate Money really tries to work with the unsigned artist.

Badnews: Besides Hate Money Radio, do you have any other projects your working on?

DJ Bedtyme: I got an Independent album I'm dropping. I really hate to put a release date on an album so I'll just say it should be out by the end of the year. I basically have all the artists I worked with on my previous mix tapes all on one album and it's going to be crazy so keep an eye out for that.

Badnews: You worked with Remy Ma in the past and she is the minority in hip hop which is the female MC. So I wanted to ask your opinion. What do you think of the female MC's that are out right now?

DJ Bedtyme: I give big ups to Nicki Minaj, Lady Luck... of course Nina B. she's like family to me so if she needs anything from me she got it. But this is a blast to all the female MC's, if you need anything from me hit me up and I'll be there. Remy basically gave a blessing to work with more female MCs. She actually asked me why don't I work with more Female rappers.

Badnews: Any new advice or words of wisdom for upcoming DJ?

DJ Bedtyme: Make sure you dedicate your time to this and be sure this is what you really want to do. This field is really stressful and you have to have patience. I've been doing this for years and i just got noticed a few years back. make sure you do what you have to do.
