Badnews: Can you give us some background into who Swayzy Baby is?Swazy Baby: Well my uncle use to rap. He wrote my first rap for me when I was nine. But I started taking it seriously when I met a DJ in Fitzgerald and it came together ever since. Badnews: At what point did you decide rap was going to be a career for you? SB: Everybody around me was always telling me you're gonna make it. I wanted to do football but I would always get in trouble because if a bitch says something wrong or talk sideways about me then I would check him. I was getting into more fights then starting Football games in high school. But music was my escape and I wanted to always rap so I decided to make it my career. This is what I want to do. Badnews: Now when you were younger, you were always moving around from family member to family member so you got to see a lot of things, what was the most difficult thing to see in you childhood that you haven't put on a record yet? SB: I seen a lot of stuff. My family did a lot of shit but I don't concentrate on that in my music. I did a couple songs about my personal life but that's it. I want my fans to know me but I don't really touch on the family too much in my music. I probably will touch on it later on though. Badnews: Your 19 years old and you inked a deal with Slip-n-Slide, why did you choose Slip-n-Slide over other labels? SB: Really when I met with Slip-n-Slide, I wasn't thinking about anybody else. I signed out of high school. I use to sell drugs in school, I wasn't like a dope man, I was just trying to survive. I knew I had a one in a billion chance of becoming succesful in the game but I felt my chances became better when Slip-n-Slide wanted me. Badnews: You say in a quote that you plan to bring the heat like your forefathers Jay-Z, Trick Daddy and Nas. Not to try and compare you to these artists but what would you say your music sounds a little like? SB: To tell you the truth, some people say Wayne, some say Jeezy but really I can't explain it. I'm from Georgia you know. I have that southern swag. If you listen to my other tracks, you can hear I have my own sounds. Badnews: Your a real young guy but during your career, did you ever feel you had to switch it up for the general audience sake? SB: I thought about it, but at end of the day there going to have to get use to me how I am. They have to either open there minds or get on the bandwagon. Badnews: That's whats up. Now Slip-n-Slide has been around since the early 90's, do you feel pressure to become a household name for the label like Trina, Trick Daddy, Plies and others were? SB: At first there was a lot of pressure, but I feel I'm really going to carry the torch. I just have to do what I do and be true to myself. Bandews: What's a normal day for Swazy Baby? SB: Wake up to a blunt (laughs). Lay around and watch movies. Then I hit the block, holla at my dogs, then smoke another blunt. I don't go club too much, I only go If I'm getting money Badnews: I feel that. there's nothing in these clubs unless your really celebrating something or your getting paid (laughs). Now you got a new single F*** how you dance... is the record taking any subliminal shots at some of the rappers out there? SB: Not at all. I was going through beats one day and I came across the track and it was nice. I concept of the record is talking to a female. Fuck how you dance, let's see how you can fuck. Badnews: (laughs) I respect that, and I agree also. So everyone needs to be on the look out for that. Now what are your plans for the summer? SB: Real talk, I'm not concentrated on a album right now. I do plan to drop three or four mixtapes before you hear a studio album. I want to hit you all with some good music and prove myself, then I'll worry about an album. Badnews: That sounds like a plan. Now where can we learn more about you? SB: You can check me out on myspace: myspace/swazybaby.
